This scale is identical to the ABFO scale except this version is in inches instead of metric, which is the official standard. The ABFO scale was designed by the American Board of Forensic Odontology (ABFO.) The ABFO scale has become the standard for bitemark measurement and photography. The incorporation of three circles is useful in helping to compensate for distortion resulting from oblique camera angles.
