The Cold Steel Gold Lion Katana represents a Samurai's everyday carry sword for personal protection and the defense of his lord, family and home. Significantly lighter than some of Cold Steel's heavier-duty Katanas, it is faster in-hand and easier to carry when tucked into an obi and worn all day. The katana's blade is expertly hand-honed and highly polished Damascus steel with a hamaguri grind, peaked mune spine, and undulating clay-tempered hamon. The menuki bears the symbol of the Japanese Shisa (Lion Dog), a guardian protector—a fitting motif for this lightweight sword. Black iron tsuba, fuchi and kashira feature gleaming 24-carat gold leaf accents. The handle uses white ray-skin with a black silk cord wrap and brass menuki, and the package includes a black lacquered wood scabbard. Stockable: N
