The TRU-SPEC Gen-III ECWCS Level-2 Balaclava is based on the Extreme Cold Weather Clothing System developed for the United States Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center. Level-2 garments provide light insulation in mild cold and add an extra layer of protection in frigid conditions. The grid fleece interior is designed for maximum breathability and improved moisture wicking properties, helping manage sweat and comfort during extended wear. Microban anti-microbial odor defense helps keep the balaclava fresh between uses. A fitted face opening, hemmed neck, and flat locked construction provide a secure, comfortable fit as a tactical cold-weather baselayer. TRU-SPEC’s baselayer level garments are based off these proven designs to deliver quality and utility across demanding environments.
